Assertive communication involves answering without aggression, respecting the other person, while you refuse to do something you do not want to do or that you consider unfair. Do not raise your voice, do not show anger, and try to resolve the conflict, taking into account the wishes of both parties, seeking compromises and solutions, instead of trying to simply get away with it.
Being assertive means that you respect yourself and you are willing to express yourself, to not let pushy, ask what is yours and assert your rights. It also means that you are aware of the rights of others and respect them. Assertive communication is neither too aggressive nor too passive.
